Shanklin

Shanklin is a traditional seaside town located on the south-east coast of the Isle of Wight. Young or old Shanklin has plenty to offer, with long sandy beaches, beautiful parks, amusements and a variety of attractions for all ages.

Shanklin Beach is a one of the Isle of Wight’s best-known stretches of golden sands and sits on the southern end of Sandown Bay, overlooked by a traditional seaside esplanade with friendly cafes and bars, a large amusement arcade provides bowling, go-carting, crazy golf and a child’s indoor play area ideal for those rare rainy days.

A holiday to Shanklin would not be complete without a visit to the picturesque Old Village with its small Gift Shops, Tea Rooms, Pubs & Restaurants many with traditional thatch roofs. From the Old Village, you can access the famous Shanklin Chine and Rylstone Gardens or take the coastal footpath towards Bonchurch & Ventnor.

Rylstone Gardens is perched on the clifftop and looks out over the English Channel, It is a perfect place to relax with a picnic whilst looking out for Red Squirrels, events are held regularly in the afternoon & evenings (View their Programme Here). From here you can access Shanklin Chine

Shanklin Theatre – The Theatre is open all year round hosting a full programme of professional and amateur productions. throughout the year it hosts events ranging from a Christmas Pantomime, a professional summer season, local amateur dramatics, a children’s stage school, the Isle of Wight Dance Festival and workshops for visiting school parties.
