Good morning David,

I am prompted to write a personal note to yourself, our recent stay at The Clifton was charming in every respect. You certainly know how to present and deliver an uplifting experience for you guests. Your reception rooms, your bedrooms, your breakfast attentions, the whole ambiance created by you and your staff are exactly what we hoped for. These comments are not made without the experience of many other establishments, and we hold The Clifton in great esteem. Our first stay with you was all too short, and we hope to return later in the year. Meanwhile we are pleased to tell you that we share our experience among our family and friends, and perhaps we may be more than “a couple” on our next visit.

Thank you for a delightful short stay.  It should have  been longer!  We were very impressed by the whole experience from reception to leaving.  Your hotel is beautiful, charming and exquisite.  I have left you a truthful glowing report on tripadvisor.  When the opportunity arises we would love to return sometime.  Recommendations to all friends and family of course, and we wish you great success.  I love your choice of furniture!

The two of us enjoyed a wonderful quiet and peaceful four weeks in the suite with bedroom and sitting room plus balcony and fabulous views of the sea from mid April to mid May. David, Carys and the staff were very kind, helpful and attentive with nothing being too much trouble. Everything was spotlessly clean, breakfasts and bar meals were thoroughly enjoyable and the icing on the cake was unexpectedly glorious weather from start to finish so many meals were eaten outside in the beautiful garden.

Dear David and Staff, I would like to thank you and congratulate you on being the first hotel anywhere to cater for my food allergies so well. Real milk (lactose-free) rather than horrible oat or almond alternatives and gluten-free biscuits in the room! I felt so welcome. It is a beautiful hotel and garden, we will stay again.

A four-night stay that felt like a fortnight as it was so relaxing.
Wonderful breakfasts, cosy lounge, award-winning gardens, bookshelves of novels and books of local interest all in an art-decor setting, not to mention the sea views and obliging staff.
I’m loathed to praise it too much as I want it to be available for my next trip

I wanted to thank you again for the Afternoon Tea that was prepared for me yesterday, it was delicious. The whole experience was very much enjoyed and the view out to sea was beautiful.
I read with interest the list of plants in the Garden and also looked around at some of these on departure, however I failed to note the magnificent Palm at the top of the drive so would it be possible for Terri to email the name of it please. Thank you again.

I am writing to you in my capacity as Chairman of Castle Wheelers Cycling Club to thank you for our stay with you on the night of 19th May. You have been very patient and accommodating with us over the past couple of years as we have sought to bring our planned visit to the Isle to fruition.

Staying at your hotel was an important part of our plans. Your staff were very obliging to ensure we were comfortable and well-fed. They also provided information to enable us to find our way more easily to the hotel and, on our departure, the best route to Newport via The Red Squirrel Trail.

I have just spent a very enjoyable 2 nights with David and Staff at the Clifton Hotel, Isle of Wight. Although times are very difficult at present with this virus they did everything to abide by the rules without making guests feel uncomfortable. The bedrooms were spotless and they had provided all the usual in-room facilities. I will not hesitate to recommend the “Clifton”. Thank you for all your care.

I have had afternoon teas at some of the very top hotels around the country and I can honestly say that The Clifton’s version was definitely one of the very best I’ve had. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a top-quality and delicious afternoon tea on the Isle of Wight, and in a beautiful setting too. Best wishes

I must say my recent week stay was just what I wanted. Peace, quiet, good food and a slow pace of things after a hectic 15 months that I had had. I have already recommended 5 people to you and I will definitely like to come back again myself. Just want to say your hotel made our short break very enjoyable. Stan and I couldn’t have found anywhere better – the people, the food, lovely comfortable beds, fluffy soft towels, and the little finishing touch of the toiletries in the rooms that may have been forgotten by your guests. All made even more enjoyable by the fantastic handmade cushions dotted around the hotel and rooms. So much work went into them. Your attention to detail is second to none. Even the location was perfect. So thank you.
