The Island in spring has a lot to offer, many of our wonderful tourist attractions are open, giving you a chance to explore and see the sights without having to fight your way through busy crowds of international tourists that flock to the Island in the hight of summer. Spring is also a great time to visit some of the beautiful wild areas and parks, Rylstone Gardens is one such example with the chance to see some of our local Red Squirrels were early in the morning their “Kittens” can be seen playing in the trees.

Another Clifton favourite for spring is the Isle of Wight Steam Railway whilst a great day out any time of the year, in spring the Bluebell woods come alive in bloom and provide stunning scenery as you travel on one of the wonderfully restored period trains.

Also taking place in spring is the annual Isle of Wight Walking Festival one of the most popular festivals of its kind in Europe, with over 500 miles of footpath to explore as well as 60 miles of heritage coast this two-week event hosts dozens of guided walks all around the Island, many include Shanklin making it ideal for anyone staying at the Clifton.
