Enjoy a couple’s retreat this summer on the Isle of Wight

If you’re looking to treat your other half to a romantic weekend away from the stresses of daily life, look no further than a trip to The Clifton. Our location in Shanklin makes us the ideal spot for a Isle of Wight Couples Retreat enjoying each other’s company and experiencing a deep level of relaxation which ensures that our visitors keep coming back year after year for every anniversary or birthday trip as a couple.

Whether you’re looking to just relax and enjoy spending some quality time together enjoying the sea view from our lounge or award-winning garden, or you’re looking to jam-pack your couples weekend with activities and attractions, you’ll have no trouble finding the couples retreat of your dreams on the Isle of Wight, and you’re certain to have a holiday that will strengthen your bond and leave you with memories that you’ll treasure forever.

Here are the Clifton’s ideas of the best way to spend an Isle of Wight couples retreat, when you’re not enjoying the quality rooms, the stunning view or the delectable food from our new cafe menu, that is.

Firstly, we’d recommend that you spend at least a day or two visiting some of the Island’s famous beaches and taking some of the coastal walks – we actually don’t think a couples retreat would be complete without soaking in some of the natural beauty of the Island. We currently have the highest number of award-winning beaches in England, and so you’ll be sure that a romantic stroll along the beach is bound to be filled with beauty and wonder.

If you prefer this type of trip – a slow trip, filled with lovely views and stunning food – perhaps you could wander down to the lovely Steephill cove and enjoy some of the freshest and finest seafood on the Island together, or potter in to one of the small, independent café’s in Newport town centre where you can try all manner of homemade cakes and bakes.

However, if you’d rather explore more of the culture and history of the Isle of Wight, or enjoy some of our brilliant attractions – there’s plenty on offer for you to enjoy, too. We think that the Isle of Wight offers some of the most varied and wide-ranging attractions available in a UK holiday destination – which means that there is plenty to entertain the kids, but lots that adult couples can enjoy too.

We’d recommend that you get a glimpse of the taste of the Isle of Wight’s history and unique culture by visiting one of the Museums, such as Carisbrooke Castle museum or Osborne House, or Galleries such as those housed in Ventnor. Wander through history together whilst experiencing all of the sights and sounds of a lovely Isle of Wight summer.

You could also take a trip to one of the Island’s best-known landmarks – the Needles Rocks and Lighthouse – to which you can take a boat out to see the panoramic views of the landmark in full. Bob across the water together whilst the knowledgeable tour guide tells you all about the landmark – and the history of the location.

A couples retreat on the Isle of Wight is the favourite for many all over the UK and even the world. The unrivalled beauty and serenity of the Island means that it’s the perfect place to leave the rest of the world at home, and simply enjoy each other’s company.
