 Here at The Clifton hotel in Shanklin, we believe that great accommodation goes hand in hand with great food. If you’re on the Isle of Wight and are looking for freshly prepared dishes, served in a relaxed and friendly setting, then look no further.


We’ve compiled our years of experience in the industry, creating a welcoming Bar and Bistro which is open daily from breakfast through to dinner, so you can enjoy dining with us at any time of the day – whether you fancy a light bite or an elegant dinner.

We are proud to serve simple but bold and flavoursome food, which we source locally where possible. We understand and are very conscious of the fact that the lands surrounding The Clifton are prime farming land and we definitely make the most of it! We work with a host of specialist growers and suppliers to ensure that all of our dishes are crafted using the freshest, best locally sourced produce we can possibly find.

Our menu has been created to mix a wide range of refreshing hot beverages, wines, ciders and beers with a selection of freshly prepared dishes from homemade cakes and light snacks through to full tasty meals – ensuring that there’ll be someone for everyone to enjoy.

When on the Island, it would be a crying shame to miss out on the fresh fish caught on the shores and it’s for this reason that we’d always recommend our Fishermans sharing platter, complete with potted crab, smoked salmon, king prawns, seafood salad, finished with garlic mayo and presented with a freshly baked baguette. For those not looking to share, try our favourite daily Fresh Fish specials board, our featured Scallops pan fried in garlic and chilli butter on black pudding or our Potted Bembridge Crab served with toasted malted bread.

For those not fancying the catch of the day, we offer Sirloin steaks sourced from carefully selected Island farms, and a chef’s favourite slow roast Pork Belly served with herb mash and fresh vegetables.
